Career & Salary Survey FY20 Trends
Whilst salaries and bonuses haven’t changed drastically over the last 18 months since our last survey, people’s behavior and choices are changing and we are seeing some similarities. We take a look at the key trends across Consulting & Industry.
CONSULTING
Hours are getting longer
Since 2017 the number of people working less than 45 hours a week has decreased significantly from 28% to just 3%.
Travel has increased by 10%
In 2017 66% of respondents were travelling for more than 3 week per year compared to 77% in the FY20 report
More people are looking to move to industry
59% are looking to move to industry within the next 2 years compared to 48% in 2017
aspiration is growing
48% of respondents in FY20 aspire to becoming a Partner compared to 43% in 2017
Industry
Hours are getting longer
Since 2017 the number of people working less than 45 hours has decreased from 40% to 29%
The number of people working 60 hours + has increased from 4% to 13%
People are travelling differently
The number of people not travelling at all has increased from 19% in 2017 to 29% in the FY20 report
The number of those travelling for more than 3 weeks a year has increased from 23% to 34% with 15% travelling more than 6 weeks a year
More people looking for a new role- now
In the FY20 report 85% are either actively looking or open to hearing about opportunities compared to 62% who were looking to move jobs within the next 12 months in 2017
